What to know

What is Botox?+

Botox relaxes the small muscles that crease the skin when you frown, squint or raise your brows. With the muscle quieter, the lines above it soften and new lines are less likely to deepen.

What happens during treatment?+

Your provider marks the areas, then injects tiny amounts with a fine needle. It takes only a few minutes, and there is no downtime for most people.

When will I see results?+

The effect builds over several days and usually lasts around three to four months, after which the muscles gradually move again. Many people repeat the treatment to keep the result.

Risks and things to know+

Common effects are small bumps, redness and bruising at the injection sites, and sometimes a mild headache. Less often, a brow or eyelid can feel heavy or the result can be uneven, which usually settles as the effect wears off. Tell us if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a nerve or muscle condition, or are allergic to any ingredients.

Questions to bring to your consultation+

Which areas do I need treated, and how many units? How soon will I see the result, and when should I come back? What should I avoid after treatment?

This page is general information, not medical advice. Your surgeon will talk about your own situation during your consultation.
